Previous experiences and role: 
I’m currently doing Master thesis in the Department of Food Science, with the Erasmus programme. The thesis’ aim is to optimize the extraction of quercetin, a flavonol with powerful antioxidant capacity, from onion peel through a systematic study of the effects of different parameters. As an extracurricular activity, I chose to join BEST - Board of European Students of Technology – a European and Voluntary students' organization during my first year of college. BEST Lisbon is a local group of this organization based in Instituto Superior Técnico and as a member, I helped organize events with the goal of developing student's soft and hard skills. As Secretary (2017-2018) I was responsible to manage a team of 50 members, distributed over 5 departments, create and accomplish a strategic planning, manage projects and make presentations daily. It also allowed me to travel and represent BEST Lisbon in European events with over 300 people.
